Champion Wine Cellars

8515 Greenwood Avenue North
Seattle, WA 98103

Join UW Earth and Space Sciences for an engaging evening for alumni, exploring the connection between geology and wine. We are offering this exclusive tasting experience of four wines presented in two comparative pairs, discussing how factors such as soil type, rock composition, and geologic history can influence the character and flavor of a wine. The event will combine guided tasting with informal conversation, offering a unique perspective on the relationship between earth science and wine production.

Assistant Professor Baptiste Journaux, one of our new faculty in planetary science, will be leading the discussion.

Tickets are $50 per person. This intimate event is limited to 20 attendees and welcomes all UW ESS alumni. A waitlist is available.

To keep the event affordable and accessible, tickets are priced below the actual cost of approximately $100 per attendee. Attendees who wish to do so may add an optional donation during registration to help cover event costs and support future ESS alumni programs and events.

Please help us to accommodate as many alumni as possible by limiting the number of guests to one or fewer.

Light appetizers will be provided.
