The Arreguín family and the University of Washington invite you to join the UW community to celebrate the life of Alfredo Arreguín, ’67, ’69, who passed away last spring at the age of 88.

A prolific and renowned painter, Arreguín has work displayed around the world, including the Smithsonian and the National Portrait Gallery. Arreguín was a passionate champion of justice, donating his works to support the UW Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity's Educational Opportunity Program and other causes throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. He was an early supporter of the UW Multicultural Alumni Partnership and received myriad awards, including the Washington State Governor’s Arts and Heritage Award and the Ohtli Award, bestowed by the Mexican government to people promoting Mexican culture abroad.

We hope you will gather with the Arreguín family and the UW community in the HUB Lyceum to celebrate his life and art on Sunday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m.
